The number of foreign workers in Fukuoka Prefecture reached a record 85,385 as of the end of October 2025, an increase of 9,186 from a year earlier, according to the Fukuoka Labour Bureau. This marked the fourth consecutive year of growth and the highest total since reporting became mandatory in 2007. Vietnamese nationals formed the largest group at 22,433, followed by workers from Nepal, China, Indonesia, and Myanmar. By industry, manufacturing employed the largest share, followed by wholesale and retail, and accommodation and food services.
