A former student dormitory near Nishitetsu Yakuin Station in Fukuoka will open as a hotel on Sept. 14. The 22-year-old building, previously used by cram school students, has been converted from 114 dorm rooms into 90 guest rooms. The hotel uses unstaffed check-in and smart locks. Its design retains features of the original building, including triangular roof shapes incorporated into guest room ceilings.
