Four Cities In Nagasaki Oppose Genkai Nuclear Power Plant

In a Matsuura City Council session on April 12 it was decided that they would oppose the restarting of the Genkai Genpatsu (Genkai Nuclear Power Plant). The decision of the council was unanimous. Located 30km from the plant the city council worries about the safety of its citizens, especially the senior citizens located on remote islands who are harder to reach in case of emergency. This marks the fourth and final city within a 30km range (Matsuura, Hirado, Iki and Sasebo) of the plant to agree to oppose the restarting of the reactor.
