Oita Prefecture signed an agreement with the 21 companies operating supermarkets in the prefecture to eliminate the distribution of free shopping bags in June. The agreement covers 201 stores, which account for 90% of the prefecture’s supermarkets. The objective is to reduce garbage and improve environmental awareness.
