Saga Prefecture has designated Fuji-cho to be the model district in its “information village” program to use information and communications technology for local development. The objective will be to have all the residents familiarize themselves with computers and enable electronic transactions for special products. They hope to create an information environment that will boost the earnings capability of the area in the future.
