Fukuoka announces dates and caps for 50% travel discounts

Fukuoka Prefecture announced details of its Kyushu Fukko Oen Wari campaign on Sep. 17 to help restore tourism demand following the Kumamoto earthquake. The government-funded program will subsidize 50% of eligible accommodation and travel costs for stays from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15. Discounts are capped at 20,000 yen per person for accommodation-only bookings or one-night packages with transport, and 30,000 yen for transport-inclusive packages of two nights or more. Packages involving overnight stays in at least two prefectures have a 35,000 yen cap. Reservations will open in stages from late September and close when Fukuoka’s 1,960,930,000 yen allocation is exhausted. Source: KBC News / Asahi Shimbun
