Fukuoka Broadcasters Post Mixed Results

Financial results for Fukuoka’s five commercial broadcasters showed generally stronger performance in the fiscal year ended March 2026, with four companies reporting higher revenue and profit. KBC Group Holdings posted a 3% increase in revenue and a 21% rise in net profit, supported by growth in both spot and program advertising sales. RKB Mainichi Holdings recorded a 34% increase in revenue, aided by an acquisition in the e-commerce sector. TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting and Fukuoka Broadcasting also reported overall revenue growth despite mixed advertising results. Television Nishinippon was the only company to post lower revenue and profit, citing reduced advertising demand linked to sponsor withdrawals from affiliated Fuji Television following a human rights controversy, along with higher depreciation costs from facility upgrades.
