Fukuoka City has decided to split the Infectious Diseases Department from the Fukuoka Children’s Hospital and Medical Center for Infectious Diseases and create a medical facility specializing in infant and perinatal care located on Island City. The new facility is expected to open in five or six years. The city is expected to purchase land on the west side of Chuo Park on the island.
