Fukuoka City has announced that it will issue coupons that can be used for lessons starting in July to support children from economically distressed households. According to Fukuoka City, the vouchers will be issued to children from the fifth grade to the third grade of junior high school from approximately 8,900 households who receive public assistance or child support allowance. Starting in July, coupons of up to 10,000 yen per child per month will be issued. In preparation for the program’s start, the city has begun accepting applications from businesses that can use the coupons, such as tutoring schools and sports schools. Source: TNC / Fukuoka City
