Fukuoka City announced the closure of the following about twenty cultural facilities for the period between Feb. 27 ~ Mar. 20 to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Kyushu National Museum in Dazaifu City also announced its closure until Mar. 15 (operation from Mar. 16 will be reconsidered pending developments.) Cancellations and postponements of sports events in Kyushu include basketball B league games (2/28 ~ 3/11), Kyushu Highschool Ekiden (3/8), Shuri Castle Restoration Charity Golf (3/9) and more have been canceled or postponed.
