Fukuoka City Applies to Host G20 Summit in 2019

Fukuoka City submitted its application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to host the G20 Summit in 2019, which will be the first ever to be held in Japan. Fukuoka aims to boost its reputation as an international city by hosting what is considered one of the most important global forms. To avoid any possible difficulties, the Government of Japan is expected to choose a host city outside of Tokyo, which will be busy preparing for the 2020 Olympics. Thus far, Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City and Aichi Prefecture have also thrown their hats in the ring, and the government will make its decision sometime next year. Source: fiba.jp
