The Fukuoka City branch of office leasing company Miki Shoji Co. released a report on office occupancy rate in the city as of the end of July. The rate fell by 0.13 percentage points from the previous month to 89.98%, marking the first time since July 2005 that it has been below the 90% level. According to the company, the primary reason for the decline is that of the 11 new office buildings completed and opened in the city from February to June, seven have a full utilization rate of less than 70%.
