Fukuoka City Opens Unused Dwelling (akiya) Consultation Desk

On October 20, Fukuoka Prefecture opened an ‘akiya’ (unused house) consultation center on the third floor of ACROS Fukuoka. The number of empty dwellings in Fukuoka Prefecture had increased to 126,000 as of 2018, including many homes left empty for an extended period. To help the owners to sell the abandoned property or find ways to reuse them, real estate professionals and legal counsels provide advice without fees on weekdays between 9:00~17:00. The center also matches akiya with local businesses. Source: NHK / Fukuoka Prefecture
