Fukuoka City Partners With Meteorological Association To Reduce Food Waste

Fukuoka City and the Japan Weather Association (JWA) are calling for retailers to participate in their AI-based food demand forecasting project. Aiming to reduce food waste in the region, Fukuoka City subsidized JWA to develop ‘Uridoki! Forecast system. Uridoki predicts demand for over 600 food products based on weather data and social media contents, thus allowing user shops to gauge how many ingredients to order on the day and help them decide daily productions.
