Fukuoka City Sets Another Trillion Yen Budget

Fukuoka City announced its second consecutive trillion yen budget for the fiscal year of 2022. The city’s annual budget topped ¥1 trillion for the first time in 2021 to meet the massive needs of financial support for local pandemic-hit businesses and infection prevention programs. The new budget would be similar to that of 2021 and cover expenses for the third round of COVID-19 vaccination. The city would also appropriate budgets for de-carbonization and developing a new digital system for firehouses. Source: Sankei / RKB / NHK
