Fukuoka City Splits Coming of Age Ceremonies

Fukuoka City announced double schedules for the Coming of Age Ceremony in 2021. The event traditionally welcomes some 9,000 residents aged twenty to the venue Marine Messe. However, to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the city will split the participants into two groups and invite them to shorter ceremonies (from noon and 15:40.) The city advises participants to install the COCOA app on their smartphones before visiting the venue. The event will also be live-streamed online for the first time. Source: NHK / Fukuoka City
