Fukuoka City To Provides Free Flu Vaccines To Elderly

Fukuoka Prefecture intends to provide free influenza vaccines for residents over sixty-five to reduce excessive strain on the local health system. A project budget of ¥4.2 billion will be proposed at its September assembly. It would also fully subsidize PCR tests at family doctors in the municipalities other than Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, and Kurume. Meanwhile, Fukuoka City announced a subsidy for flu vaccination for children. Residents between 6 months old to HS students (*or those 18 years old or under as of Apr. 1, 2021) can take vaccinations for ¥1,000 at one of the designated medical facilities. The city advises children to take flu vaccinations on Oct. 26 or later, reflecting upon the guidelines from the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. Source: Mainichi / TNC / NHK
