Fukuoka City’s Budget Passed

Fukuoka City’s annual budget for the fiscal year of 2020 was approved at the city’s assembly on March 25. The record-largest budget of ¥887 billion includes items such as tourism promotion (reliant on the forecasted income of newly introduced accommodation tax.) However, the prolonged impact of COVID-19 could cause shortfalls as taxable incomes decrease. Source: NHK 2020-03-26
