Fukuoka Daihatsu Warned for Subcontracting Violations

The Japan Fair Trade Commission issued a warning to Fukuoka Daihatsu for violating subcontracting laws by requiring repair subcontractors to provide loaner cars and cover related maintenance costs. From August 2022 to April 2025, 24 subcontractors supplied 77 vehicles, with total costs exceeding ¥17 million. The company has reimbursed the subcontractors and said it will prevent recurrence. The commission noted the practice may exist at other dealerships and hopes the corrective action encourages wider compliance. Source: Fukuoka Daihatsu / KBC
