Fukuoka Drafts New One Health Plan

Fukuoka Prefecture has begun drafting its second five-year One Health Action Plan following a meeting of the Prefectural One Health Promotion Council in Fukuoka City. Twenty-four members, including Japan Medical Association Honorary President Yoshitake Yokokura, discussed future initiatives linking human, animal, and environmental health to address challenges such as zoonotic diseases. The first action plan, introduced in 2021, led to projects including One Health education in prefectural high schools. The council will prepare an interim report before its next meeting in November and aims to finalize the new plan during the current fiscal year. The updated strategy will guide the prefecture’s One Health initiatives from the next fiscal year. Source: KBC News / Fukuoka Prefecture
