Fukuoka Governor Hiroshi Ogawa announced that the prefecture will make 250 hospital beds available for COVID-19 patients next week. An online meeting took place between the Governor and mayors in Fukuoka Prefecture on April 3, in which the leaders discussed the escalating demand for medical preparedness for  COVID-19. During the session, the governor explained that in addition to the current 66 beds at the prefecture’s designated medical institutions for infectious diseases, 184 more beds at cooperating institutions will become available for COVID-19 care.
