The Fukuoka Local Finance Bureau, part of the Finance Ministry, has presented awards to four financial institutions in its jurisdiction of Fukuoka, Saga, and Nagasaki prefectures for their work to develop new sales channels and promote the start of new businesses in their communities. The bureau has been giving the awards since 2008 to bring greater attention to the successes of financial institutions. This year’s awards focused on continuous efforts over the intermediate term and the provision of consulting services. The banks receiving recognition were the Bank of Fukuoka in Fukuoka City, the Chikuho Bank in Kurume, the Bank of Saga in Saga City, and the Onga Shinkin Bank in Okagaki-machi, Fukuoka Prefecture.
