Fukuoka City launched its annual “Cool Share Fukuoka” campaign on June 1, opening approximately 890 air-conditioned cooling spots across the city to help prevent heat-related illness during periods of extreme heat. Participating locations include community centers, pharmacies, convenience stores, commercial facilities, and public institutions. City officials said the program encourages residents and visitors to take breaks indoors while traveling or spending time outside.
