Fukuoka PARCO is championing the concept of “circulation” over disposal. This spring, they are set to host another Sustainable Week, focusing on upcycling, following a successful event last November.
The initiative is in partnership with Daimaru Fukuoka’s branch, featuring a recycling campaign where collected clothing, shoes, and bags are transformed into various resources, including fuel. Additionally, there’s a cosmetic recycling effort that repurposes unused home cosmetics for overseas aid. The event also includes upcycling workshops led by local Fukuoka artists.
