Fukuoka Prefecture Launches Hub to Support International Workforce

Fukuoka Prefecture is poised to launch a new support center in Fukuoka City this autumn, aimed at attracting global talent by fostering a secure and welcoming environment for foreign residents. Historically, the advisory needs of foreigners residing in the prefecture were catered to by the Foreign Residents’ Advisory Center in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, requiring them to navigate multiple agencies for various issues. To streamline this, the forthcoming center, tentatively named “FUKUOKA IS OPEN Center,” will centralize services, assembling experts from the Fukuoka Regional Immigration Bureau, the Fukuoka Labour Bureau, the Prefectural Bar Association, and other entities to provide comprehensive guidance on employment, lifestyle, education, and healthcare. This initiative reflects the prefecture’s strategic commitment to alleviating the local workforce shortage and boosting its role as a hub for international finance by welcoming adept international professionals. The prefecture is determined to enhance its advisory infrastructure to support the multifaceted engagement of foreign talent in the region. Source: NHK
