Fukuoka Prefecture Lends Out Pulse Oxi Monitors

Beginning on February 1, Fukuoka Prefecture will lend pulse oximeters to people receiving new coronavirus treatment at home. The medical device calculates oxygen levels in the blood just by slipping it on a finger. The prefecture recently recorded its first death of a home-treatment patient and hopes this technology will prevent more occurrences by signaling patients to report to local health offices after experiencing a decline in the oxygen level. (The program is for residents of municipalities other than Fukuoka City, Kurume City, and Kitakyushu City. Kitakyushu City also began a corresponding program as of January 29.) Source: NHK / KBC
