Fukuoka Prefecture Records Record High Population

According to a report released by Fukuoka Prefecture, the population of the prefecture as of Oct. 1, 2018 was a record 5,111,494. Fukuoka Prefecture’s population increased for the past 23 years since counting began in 1995. The latest figure shows an increase of 1,156 compared to the previous year. The increase was attributed to people moving into Fukuoka despite a negative birth rate. The average age in Fukuoka was 46.3, up by 0.2 from the previous year.
