Fukuoka Prefecture to Enter State of Emergency Until Sep. 12

Despite the measures implemented two weeks ago to prevent the spread of C19 daily infections, they exceeded 1,000 last week and continue to run high. Reflecting on the situation, the central government has decided to add seven prefectures, including Fukuoka, to the state of emergency’s target areas currently issued in six prefectures such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Okinawa. The period will be from the 20th of this month to the 12th of next month. If an emergency is declared, Fukuoka Prefecture will request restaurants that provide alcohol and karaoke facilities to stop service and request other restaurants to shorten their business hours to 8:00 pm. More details will be announced today. Source: NHK
