Fukuoka Prefecture To Subsidize Hotel Stays

Fukuoka Prefecture plans to subsidize stays at local accommodation facilities, aiming to accelerate economic recovery from the new coronavirus’s impact. Governor Hiroshi Ogawa explained to the prefectural assembly on Oct. 12 that the program would cover ¥5,000 or up to 50% (for expenses below ¥10,000) of accommodation fees at some 1,500 hotels and ryokan. The program would start as early as early November, and the prefectural residents would be able to combine those discounts with the national ‘Go To’ program. Source: NHK
