Fukuoka Startup QPS to Join Tokyo Exchange

The Tokyo Stock Exchange has approved the listing of QPS Research Institute, a Kyushu University spin-off based in Fukuoka City, on its Growth Market, with the listing date set for December 6th. The company, which works on developing, manufacturing, and selling satellite image data, plans a public offering of 5.72 million shares, representing 18% of its total issued shares, with an additional 850,000 shares for over-allotment. QPS, led by Emeritus Professor Tetsuo Yasaka, has successfully launched a SAR-equipped satellite capable of imaging the Earth’s surface in any weather, beneficial for rapid disaster assessment. The funds raised will be invested in satellite production, with a goal to deploy a 36-satellite network by 2025 for continuous Earth observation to enhance disaster prevention services.
