Recruit of Tokyo released the results of its survey of popular tourist destinations in Japan for 3,000 tourists from China, South Korea, and Taiwan. Of the 19 areas offered as a choice, Fukuoka Prefecture ranked first, followed by Oita Prefecture. The tourists appreciated those two destinations for the food offered and the hot spring resorts. The survey was conducted for the benefit of local governments to devise tourism strategies in the wake of the Tohoku earthquake.
