Fukuoka University Hospital Closes Two Wards Due To Staff Shortage

More than 120 medical staff members at Fukuoka University Hospital in Fukuoka City have been unable to go to work due to potential exposure to the new coronavirus, and two wards have been closed. As the infection continues to spread, the provision of medical care has been affected. According to the Fukuoka University Hospital in Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City, more than 120 of the approximately 1,900 doctors, nurses, and other medical staff working at the hospital have been unable to go to work because they have been infected with the new strain of coronavirus or have had close contact with it through family members who were infected. In response to this, the hospital decided to close two wards that accept general patients by yesterday, as they cannot provide adequate medical care. Source: NHK
