Fukuoka Uses Manga To Promote Breast Cancer Testing

Fukuoka City is promoting breast cancer screenings by distributing 120,000 free copies of “Hataraku Saibou Black.” The popular manga, whose title translates as “Working Cells Black,” features characters that represent various anthropomorphized body cells. For the campaign, an original story was developed to explain the importance of screening in a fun way. The city aims to increase screening rates for various cancers as Fukuoka residents test less frequently than the national average. The manga booklets will be available at the city’s public facilities, shops of Drug Eleven, Tsutaya bookstores, and more. Source: Sankei
