Fukuoka Uses Puns for Traffic Safety Campaign

Fukuoka police launched the spring traffic safety campaign on April 6 with a public awareness event using wordplay slogans to engage drivers. About 60 participants, including police officers and professional wrestlers, gathered in Fukuoka City to distribute flyers and promotional items. This year’s slogan encourages caution at intersections, where more than half of injury accidents occur. The Hakata Rinko Police Station has made pun-based messaging a regular feature of its outreach efforts. Traffic accidents in the prefecture totaled 2,960 cases so far this year, remaining largely unchanged. Authorities said they will continue strengthening safety measures and urging drivers to follow basic precautions. Source: KBC News / TNC News
