Fukuoka Vet Leader Heads Global Body

Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly Chairman Isao Kurauchi reported to Governor Seitaro Hattori that he has assumed the presidency of the World Veterinary Association, becoming the first Japanese to hold the position. Kurauchi took office during the association congress held in Tokyo earlier this month. During the meeting, he emphasized his commitment to advancing the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health, and expressed his intention to promote it globally. Founded in 1863, the association provides international leadership for veterinarians and works to improve animal health and public health. Governor Hattori welcomed the appointment and said the prefecture would continue promoting One Health initiatives, including education programs in schools. Source: KBC News / Fukuoka Prefecture
