Fukuoka City has announced that four Asian elephants from Yangon, Myanmar, will arrive at Fukuoka City Zoo in July, after delays due to extended transport procedures. The elephants, three females and one male, will be publicly showcased from October. The zoo has renovated its elephant habitat, tripling its size and adding slopes to prevent the animals from becoming sedentary. The long-time local caretakers will accompany the elephants to ensure a smooth transition. Source: NHK
