Fukuoka’s Beloved ‘Tenjin Jizo’ Vandalized Again

The ‘Tenjin Jizo’ statue in Fukuoka City, a symbol of traffic safety, has been damaged once more, with the back of its head broken. Discovered by a volunteer on January 27, this statue, commemorating a police officer who died in the line of duty, was previously vandalized six years ago. Toshiichi Fujiki, the local community leader, expressed dismay over this repeated act of vandalism on a figure representing traffic safety. A report has been filed with the police, who are investigating the incident under suspicion of property damage. Source: KBC
