Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. announced plans to disband their professional rugby team, the Coca-Cola Red Sparks, at the end of 2021. The team, established in 1966, has been based in Fukuoka and played in Japan’s Top Challenge League since 2006. The company explained it needs to accelerate business restructuring to sustain its beverage business within rapidly changing markets.
