Fukuoka’s Street Stalls Embrace Digital Transformation

Fukuoka City is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its nationwide Street Vendor Basic Ordinance with a digital transformation project. In collaboration with “LINE Fukuoka”, the city is providing real-time information about the food stalls on Nagahama street via an official LINE account. The information includes business hours, cashless payment options, reservation availability, and menu prices. The project also features AI technology to assess store congestion levels, and a “stamp rally” where QR code scans earn visitors various gifts. Source: Fukuoka City / KBC
