Genkai-cho Nuclear Power Plant Safe in 8.1 Earthquake

Kyushu Electric Power released the results of their simulation of an 8.1 magnitude earthquake near the Genkai-cho nuclear power plant in Saga Prefecture. A tsunami could be anywhere from 2.1 to 4.9 meters high, not high enough to reach the plant site 11 meters above sea level. Their simulation also shows the plant would withstand the shaking resulting from a quake of that size.
