Kyushu Electric Power announced that Unit 3 at the Genkai Nuclear Power Plant in Saga Prefecture has returned to normal operations following a scheduled inspection that began on March 28. Power generation resumed on June 15, with output gradually increased during adjustment operations. After passing the final comprehensive performance test on July 10, the unit officially re-entered regular operation. The restart, initially scheduled for June 30, was delayed due to a valve defect in the main steam system. In May, a worker was exposed to a trace amount of radioactive material while cleaning the reactor lid, though no health issues were reported. Unit 4 is set to begin its periodic inspection later this month. Source: Kyushu Electric Power
