Genome Code for Bluefin Tuna Cracked


A research group including members from Kyushu University has become the first in the world to indentify the genome code for the blue tuna. Scientists hope this can lead to the development of a new species that grows quicker and is more resistant to disease. According to Kyushu U. Professor Tetsu Kuhara, they hope to start breeding this new species in two or three years.
