Gion Subway Stations Gets a Second Name

Fukuoka City’s Subway Gion Station will also be known as “Hakata Old Town Station.” The additional name was assigned to the station on Feb. 14 to highlight the area’s importance as an area for sightseeing. The new name can be found at the station’s entrances on the ground, while other signs on platform gates and station walls will be updated by the end of March. Source: Fukuoka City Subway / Yomiuri
