Miyazaki Prefecture Governor Hideo Higashikokubaru has been repeatedly asked if he plans to run in the election expected to be called soon for the House of Representatives. Speculation mounted when Nariaki Nakayama, who resigned from the Taro Aso Cabinet after some controversial remarks, announced he would not run for reelection from his Miyazaki District #1 seat. But Governor Higashikokubaru repeated his statement that “as of now” he has no intention to run.
