Governor Hattori of Fukuoka Prefecture called for increased basic infection control measures and free testing before and during the upcoming Golden Week holidays. At a regular press conference on April 26, Governor Hattori said, “This will be the first Golden Week holiday in three years without shortened restaurant opening hours, yet the daily number of new cases of infection remains around 200 cases, so we cannot afford to relax.” He also called for the thorough implementation of basic infection control measures such as wearing masks during the major holidays and the third vaccination. He also announced that a temporary free testing station will be set up at a hotel in front of Hakata Station from the day after tomorrow until the 8th of next month for those who are concerned about infection.
