Hakata, Kitakyushu Centers Among JNTO Award Winners

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) selected five tourist information centers for its 2025 awards, recognizing initiatives carried out between October 2024 and September 2025. The program covered three categories: hospitality for international visitors, improved guidance through collaboration, and universal accessibility. In the hospitality category, Osaka JOINER, the Hakata Port International Terminal Information Center in Fukuoka, and the Kitakyushu General Tourist Information Center were recognized for efforts including interactive guides, promotion of local dining, and cultural displays. The Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center in Tokyo received the collaboration award for activities promoting etiquette and cultural exchange. Wonder Compass Beppu in Oita was honored for accessibility initiatives such as barrier-free routes and inclusive travel information. As of January 2026, 1,510 centers are certified nationwide.
