Hakata Port Welcomes Its Largest Visiting Cruise Ship

On June 21, Voyage of the Seas, visited Hakata Port. At 137,276 ton, 311m long and 63m high, it is the largest ever cruise ship to dock at the port. The ship’s owner, Royal Caribbean International, began cruises in Asia in may this year. This cruise departed Shanghai, China June 19 will 3,500 passengers and 380 staff. Most of the passengers are Chinese and enjoyed shopping in Fukuoka. The first cruise ship from China arrived in Hakata in 2008. This year it is expecting 46 cruise ships from China. Voyage of the Seas will operate 13 cruises to Hakata Port by October this year.
