The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport released its figures for land values nationwide this week, which show an improvement in the average rate of change for commercial districts in Kyushu prefectural capitals. Not only did land values rise in Fukuoka City for the second straight year, but they also improved in Kumamoto City and Kagoshima City for the first time in 16 years, the period when the bubble economy collapsed. The values for the other five prefectural capitals in the region show indications of bottoming out.
