On February 4, Japan Airlines will operate a Haneda-Fukuoka flight burning fuel made from 100,000 pieces of used clothes. The first domestic project to produce fuel from non-fossil materials originally planned to operate a charter flight during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics period. While the production of clothes-based fuel is very costly, the technology used to achieve this will improve biofuels’ production with other materials such as used plastics.
