On Sep. 3, General Manager of Heineken Kirin K.K., Anthony De Witt Wheeler Jr., visited the Governor of Fukuoka, Hiroshi Ogawa at the prefectural headquarters. Heineken is one of the World Partners for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2019. Three matches will be played in Fukuoka beginning with Canada vs. Italy on Sep. 26, followed by the US vs. France on Oct. 2 and then Ireland vs. Samoa on Oct. 12. Governor Ogawa welcomed Wheeler’s visit and said that the prefecture is doing its best to host the games. He also expressed his appreciation to Heineken for their assistance in making the event a success in a broad scope, including the publishing of maps and guides to help visiting fans explore Fukuoka. The company will have lots of Heineken beer available at the Fanzone (venue: JR Hakata Ekimae Hiroba) and will conduct other branding campaigns during the tournament.
